John HadjigeorgiouJohn Hadjigeorgiou PhD, Chair in Mining Engineering, University of Toronto

University of TorontoProfessor Hadjigeorgiou holds the Pierre Lassonde Chair in Mining Engineering at the University of Toronto. John previously served as Head of the Department of Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Université Laval in Quebec City. Dr. Hadjigeorgiou holds a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from McGill University. Dr. Hadjigeorgiou, P.Eng. has over 25 years of international consulting experience in mining engineering. John is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a past recipient of the John Franklin Award from the Canadian Geotechnical Society and the Rock Mechanics Award from the Canadian Institute of Mining. John is a graduate of the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and the Institute of Corporate Directors, and holds the ICD.D designation.

HoneywellBart Winters is the Product Director for Asset Management Solutions within Honeywell’s Process Solutions division. In this role he is the leader for the product strategy, direction, marketing, delivery, and business results for Honeywell’s process and equipment health management solutions to improve safety, reliability and operational excellence in the process industries. Bart has a BS in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University. Bart has been with Honeywell for 30 years in various software development, project engineering, project, management, marketing, and sales consulting positions.


Mark LudinskyMark Ludinsky, Territory Engineer and Drive Specialist, Santasalo

SantasaloTwenty-four years experience in the gearing industry, including gear reducer application, options/features, manufacturing, design, repair and adaption for various industries and applications. Mark has held numerous positions over the years, including Application Engineer, Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and Account Manager. In the various roles, duties have included calculation and design modification of gearboxes, product development and introduction, field repair and warranty analysis, account management and development, and working closely with OEM Engineers and end user customers. Mark holds an MS and BS in Physics.


Darren WittDarren Witt, Blasthole Drill Product Line Manager, L&H Industrial

L and H IndustrialGraduate of South Dakota School of Mines & Technology with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Moved to Gillette in 1997 with Black Hills Power to support construction of additional power plants at the Wyodak site. Worked for Evergreen Energy during construction and commissioning of the second K-Fuel Plant at the Clovis Point Mine. Joined L&H Industrial in 2007 as Director of Engineering before transferring to International Sales and managing the Blasthole Drill Product Line. Responsibilities include directing the development and growth of L&H's drill products as an alternative supplier. Current projects include expanding the drill transmission and gearbox applications and enhanced undercarriage systems for Caterpillar, P&H, and Atlas Copco drills.


Steven SlupskySteven Slupsky, President and CEO, Scanimetrics

Mr. Slupsky has made many innovations in the machine health, semiconductor, life sciences, advanced microelectronics and embedded systems design fields during his more than 30 years of product innovation. As one of the principal innovators for Scanimetrics technologies, Mr. Slupsky has over 40 patents spanning several wireless techniques for wafer-level semiconductor testing, packaging and sensors. Mr. Slupsky was past chair of the Global Semiconductor Alliance Test Interest Group (gsaglobal.org), past chair of the Alberta Centre for Advanced MNT Products (acamp.ca) and sits on the test committee for the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (itrs.net). Mr. Slupsky has contributed to shaping the future of the industries he has worked in.

Joy GlobalAs Global Service Director for Joy Global, Rudy Boshoff actively drives standardization, cost reductions, excess inventory solutions, and provides support to manufacturing, field service and Joy customers. He also ensures that accurate documentation and systems data are available, and maintains failure analysis records for key products. Rudy ensures compliance of all Joy designs and products with the relevant requirements as per the Mines Health and Safety Act and compliance of export products to the customer's country legislation. Mr. Bashoff's responsibilities also include strategic management of the Joy product line. and product development and improvement.


Shahid AbdullahShahid Abdullah, Global Head of Operations & Maintenance, FLSmidth

FL SmidthAs a Danish national Civil Engineer, M.Sc., Shahid Abdullah has over 25 years of professional experience. Shahid has been with FLSmidth since March 2008, and is currently the Global Director O&M Mineral Processing in Salt Lake City, heading up their global O&M MP business and operations. Prior to that, Shahid was Project Director O&M Egypt and Head of the Project Management Department in Denmark. Before FLSmidth he headed local infrastructure and environmental projects both in Denmark and internationally. Shahid's experience includes working with private, educational, research, and governmental entities. Shahid is truly a global citizen, who is passionate about combining business with people from different environments. He has worked on four continents and speaks several languages.


Tim Hopkins, Manager of Predictive Maintenance Department, Cloud Peak Energy

Cloud Peak EnergyOver thirty years experience performing and supervising maintenance of plant and mining machinery. Tim began his career in the 1980's performing and supervising precision maintenance and installation of industrial machines in the Midwest. Most recently, Tim joined Cloud Peak Energy’s Asset Management team in early 2009 providing him the opportunity to help develop a World Class Predictive Maintenance program providing the following services: Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Alignments, UE, Ultrasonic inspections, and Hydro Carbon Management of Draglines, Electric Mining Shovels, Haul Trucks and Plant machinery.

Recent achievements include implementing acceptance testing of all rebuilt, repaired and new components; creating acceptance testing criteria of rotating assemblies; developing and implementing wireless condition monitoring of haul truck components, draglines and electric shovels; introduction of Precision Maintenance and installation practices; displacing all contractor PdM and alignment services; and implementing CMMS-Ellipse liability reporting system.


Paulo CiprianoPaulo Cipriano, Asset Diagnostic Manager, SKF

SKFPaulo Cipriano is a Reliability Engineer with more than 17 years of experience. He joined SKF Brazil in 2001 where he was responsible for the delivery and implementation of state-of-the-art condition monitoring solutions to SKF’s mining customers such as Vale, Anglo American and others. In 2010, Paul moved within SKF to Australia as the Asia Pacific Asset Diagnostic Manager. In Asia, he has developed and implemented Remote Monitoring Solutions to critical and complex mining assets such as conveyor belts, vibration screens, crushers, mills, skip winders, haul trucks, draglines, shovels, locomotives and others. These Remote Monitoring Solutions has helped customers such as BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and others to optimize their assets efficiency and apply condition-based maintenance on machines considered too difficult for vibration analysis.
